Summer reading response

I read Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkings. The main character, Rachel is a girl who rides the train every day to work. She looks out the window and watches this one specific couple at their house and makes up an entire life for them. She paints them as this picture-perfect couple. To her, they seem perfect, but in real life, they are far from it.  So one day when she is looking out the window, she sees something happen with them and she gets tangled up into this whole murder investigation. The plot of the book is very well-developed and interesting. The author really goes into detail about events that happen in the book and how the characters feel about it.

The writer of the book always manages to keep you on the edge of your seat. Each chapter leaves on sort of a cliff hanger. It really makes you want to keep reading. That's probably why I finished the book in a day. What I liked most was how the writer described Rachel's problems from her point of view and helped the reader relate more to the character. The author developed all of the characters very well. By the end of the book, the reader feels like they know most of the characters very well. Girl on the Train was one of the best books I've read.

  1. This book actually seems really interesting. I really do feel like I'm 'hooked". Just the whole mystery-theme just seems like it would be really intense.
